On May 7, 2008, Count Basie Theater in Red Bank, New Jersey successfully hosted their largest fundraiser to date. Proceeds from the event which was entitled, “An 
Evening with Bruce Springsteen,” benefited the historic Count Basie Theatre and helped to offset the cost of the renovation and restoration of the theatre that began over the summer. The headliner of the event was Bruce Springsteen and the E Street Band.
The backstage area was turned into an exquisite and exclusive cocktail party which M2 Caterers, the high end off-premises division of Merri-Makers, catered with butler style hors d’ouevres for 250 guests.
Count Basie Theatre Foundation Chairman, Rusty Young, announced the evening to be a resounding success in both talent and support. The Count Basie Theatre Foundation continues their vision of physically and artistically reviving the Count Basie Theatre in raising the necessary capital and support to bring the glory of the theatre back to a much-appreciative arts community.
Recently, an additional fundraising event for the foundation included the Count Basie Theatre Foundation Golf Outing on September 18, 2008 at the Spring Lake Country Club.
